How Words Shape Your Life

If you want to achieve your goals, you need to be mindful of your words—not just to avoid offending others, but to preserve your own belief in yourself. Here’s how:

🗣️ Use “and” instead of “but.”

“But” negates what came before it, while “and” builds on it. For example, “This is a good article, but it needs some editing” isn’t as encouraging as “This is a good article, and it needs some editing.”

❌ Avoid “should.”

“Should” is a disempowering word—it’s the language of a victim. Replace it with empowering phrases like “I could,” “I choose,” “I want,” or “You might consider.”

💔 Eliminate “hate” from your vocabulary.

“Hate” is a word loaded with energy. When you use it, you send a powerful charge toward the object of your hatred, draining your own energy in the process.

✨ Feel your best and say, “I’m great!”

When someone asks how you’re doing, avoid saying things aren’t great. Instead, reply, “I’m fine!” You’re not saying it for them—you’re saying it for yourself, to reinforce positivity and confidence.
