Develop Your Sense of Style

People often say that style is innate and only a select few have good taste. Fortunately, that’s a myth. Here’s how to hone your sense of style:

👀 Observe carefully.

Pay attention to your surroundings: watch people in cafes, your colleagues, subway passengers, or friends. If you like someone’s outfit, analyze what makes it stand out—unique combinations, color schemes, or specific details. This trains your eye for style and helps you identify what resonates with you.

🎯 Define your own style.

Look at your favorite clothing pieces and figure out what makes them special. Is it the colors, fabrics, silhouette, or fit? For example, instead of just saying, “I like these pants because they fit well,” pinpoint specifics: natural fabric, high waist, thin material. Once you identify these elements, you’ll have a guide for building a wardrobe that reflects your style.

🎥 Use films for inspiration.

Watch aesthetically stunning movies. Imagine yourself as one of the characters—what would you wear? Suggestions:

– The Great Gatsby

– Elizabeth: The Golden Age

– Memoirs of a Geisha

– Roman Holiday

– Bonnie and Clyde

🚪 Step out of your comfort zone.

Shake up your wardrobe. Create at least 10 new outfits from the clothes you already own that you’ve never tried before.
