Look for the Right People

The people around you can make you more effective, stronger, help solve problems, open doors, and motivate your growth. You know this, but you often limit your circle to those who are similar to you – people who feel comfortable and easy to be around.

🤝 Don’t be shy.

Understand that shyness can make you miss out on valuable connections.

🙅‍♂️ Learn to say “no.”

It doesn’t have to be harsh or rude. One way is to delay, leaving the person in “waiting mode” until they back off. Another is to have one or two firm reasons to say “no” and use them as needed.

🙆 Learn to say “yes.”

Watch the movie Yes Man with Jim Carrey. You’ll be amazed at how many like-minded people and opportunities surround you. Push yourself and say “yes” more often to what genuinely interests you.

👍 No one owes you anything.

If you’re in a bad mood, that’s your issue. Learn to find something enjoyable in every social setting. Entertain yourself, and the right people will naturally gravitate toward you.

📖 Keep learning.

Continuous learning, such as reading or mastering new skills, keeps your brain active and makes you a more engaging conversationalist.
